Come to the edge... where all children are 'free range'

We have had a lovely time in class today learning some of the traditions of Hop-Tu-Naa. We learned a bit about turnips and their designs and we sang the Douglas version of the Jinny the Witch song. We thought it was interesting that depending on where you live on the Island, you have your own version of the Hop-Tu-Naa song! We also learned how to dance the Hop-Tu-Naa dance. We practised the Manx reel step and made arches with our arms for our partners to pass under. Here is a clip of our dance! I'm sure the children will enjoy teaching you the dance too.
