Willaston School

Behaviour values: fair, respect, safe. This is how we do it here.

Year 1 had a fantastic afternoon learning about the important job that David and Sean have as firefighters. We spoke about the importance of staying away from fires and what to do in an emergency. We learnt about what firefighters do and practised 'stop, drop and roll' to keep ourselves safe. We practised crawling low under smoke and learnt how to test a smoke detector. Our favourite part was listening to the sirens from the fire ranger, they were very loud so we covered our ears! We are now going to compare this to fire safety in the 17th century when learning about the sad events of The Great Fire of London over the next few weeks. Thank you David and Sean!
