Come to the edge... where all children are 'free range'
On Thursday 1st March we celebrated World Book Day - one of our favourite days of the year at Willaston School! Yet again we were overwhelmed with the book characters that the children dressed up as on the day! We chose the theme "Share a Story' this year. Sharing stories is an incredibly simple way of supporting children with their reading - just 10 minutes of reading to a child each day can really improve their future literacy skills. Sharing stories is also great fun! We invited parents, staff and children to share stories with each other throughout the day. We also wrote a school story - which was very gory!!
Huge thanks to everyone involved - we also managed to raise £75 to go towards new books for our ever growing library!
